אמר רב נחמן נקיטינן דקל אין לו גזע סבר רב זביד למימר אין לו גזע לבעל דקל דכיון דלמחפר ולשרש קאי אסוחי מסח דעתיה
[the buyer] discards [the shoots] from his mind.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' He does not expect to have any benefit from the shoots that may never grow from the tree, which is likely, at any moment, to dry up beyond all possibility of growing afresh.
